Payne leads Seneca Track with pair of wins at Fennimore Invite

It was a light week competition wise last week for the Seneca Track Team as only one meet made up their schedule. The Royals traveled to Fennimore last Monday, May 4 for the annual Fennimore Invitational. The Royal boys placed 13th out of 18 teams with 24.0 points, while the Seneca girls were 18th with 0 points.

Leading the way for the Royals on the boys side was sophomore Aidan Payne, who won both the 110 and 300 Meter Hurdles races, while also helping the 4x100 relay team place fifth. Junior Lenee Schaefer finished in 40th place in the girl shot put with a throw of 18-10.75.

Seneca got top-10 finishes in these events -
Boys 110 Meter Hurdles - 1. Payne (15.90).
Boys 300 Meter Hurdles - 1. Payne (43.37).
Boys 4x100 Meter Relay - 5. Scott Brown, Jonathan Morrick-Brouillette, Payne and Gavyn Wilkins (47.65).
Girls 100 Meter Dash - 9. Rita Sime (15.01).
Girls 400 Meter Dash - 4. R. Sime (1:16.16).
Girls Shot Put - 10. Lenee Schaefer (22-02.50).

The Royals returned to competition this past Monday, May 11 at the Viroqua Invitational before competing at the annual Sparky Reynolds Invite in Boscobel this Friday.
