The Prairie du Chien High School Blackhawks Girls’ Soccer team hit the road last week for a pair of conference matches. First up for the Hawks was a trip to Spring Green last Tuesday, May 19 to take on the River Valley Blackhawks. It was the host Blackhawks who came away with the victory as they defeated the Hawks 6-0.

PdC/Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben/Youth Initiative was back on the road two days later when they headed to Dodgeville to take on the Dodgers. The hosts scored four times in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into the break. The Hawks defense stood strong in the second half though, not allowing any additional goals by the Dodgers. PdC was unable to get any goals of their own and the match ended 4-0 in favor of Dodgeville/Mineral Point.

The Hawks (0-9-3, 0-7-2) wrap up the regular season this week with a pair of matches. Following last evening’s home finale vs. Platteville/Lancaster on senior night, the Hawks end the week with a non-conference match against La Crosse Aquinas this Friday at Fields for Kids in La Crosse at 5:00 p.m.

Postseason brackets were released this week and the Hawks received the 17th seed in their D3 sectional grouping and will travel to Clinton on Tuesday, June 2 to take on the 16th seed Clinton/Beloit Turner co-op in the regional quarterfinal round.
